    Garage door remotes
I seem to have a problem with my garage door opener remote. When I have one of my cars in the garage, the remotes do not work unless I am very close to the door. If that car is not around, the remotes will open the garage door from at least 50 feet away. Any ideas about this problem. The garage door opener is new and so are the remotes. Everything works fine until I put this particular car in the garage.

Is the car in question a newer car? With all the electronics on these things who knows? :( , though I have never heard of this problem. My first thought would be that the cars keyless entry system is on, or close to, the same frequency of the opener, thereby causing some interference. Does the opener work with car out of the garage, but still close, like with the car pulled up to the outside of the door? When I stand in the back of my SUV and unlock the liftgate with the keyless remote, my cell phone beeps; it also beeps when I change the time on the radio  So, car electronics or something else-just my thoughts. Good luck.

We do not have a garage door opener, but always open it by hand. Last week one side fell out of the track and I had to slacken the spring to fix it. The door is centred and is not rubbing against one side... so I'm assuming it is just the spring. Now that I put the spring back the door is very...
