    Fuse box keeps on tripping
    Hi,

I had a ceiling fan controlled with a dimmer switch for the lights that I did not like. I removed the ceiling fan and replaced it with a semi mount lighting fixture. Still keeping the same dimmer. The new lighting fixture worked perfectly. The dimmer controlling the fan was useless. The one next to it which controlled the lights was now controlling the new light fixture.

I switched the regular bulbs to fluorescent ones and the light worked fine with the dimmer switch.

After a few weeks I decided that I didn't like the glass dome on the lighting fixture. I put a different dome on which was not as deep, so I had to screw it in quite a bit to make it fit.

When I went to turn the lights on after replacing the glass dome, the dimmer switch popped and sizzled.

Thinking it was the dimmer switch. I replaced the dimmer switch with a regular switch. The fuse kept tripping and wouldn't turn on. Then I realized that when I screwed the new dome on, I went in too deep. I cut the wires from the bulb to the socket. I immediately took the dome off. I put electrical tape on that tiny cut and still my fuse box won't turn on.

Remove the fixture and examine all wiring.
