    Fluorescent Light Problems
I have recessed fluorescent lights in my kitchen and sometimes when I flick the wall switch they will not come on. If I keep flicking the switch, sometimes one will come on and if I keep it up, eventually both may come on. This doesn't happen all the time though, sometimes they work just fine. I notice it more during warmer, more humid weather.

So what could be causing this? Is it the switch or something with the lights?

In older units it was the starter which wad separate and replaceable . In newer units, the starter is in the ballast. Don't think it is the switch. Have you replaced the tubes?

No, haven't replaced the tubes. I assumed that they worked because they do eventually come on.

The starter and ballast is the black box under the cover, correct?
