Fan won't turn but light and chime work
I have a Harbor Breeze Platinum Portes ceiling fan. When I "turn it on" the light will go on and it makes the chime that it should be working but the fan blades don't move. If I manually push the blades for 4-5 minutes, it will eventually catch and start working but within 10 minutes it stops again. Any ideas or help would be much appreciated - it's hot here and we need the fan!

If the fan is still within its warranty, return the fan.

What you describe is most likely that the motor's capacitor is failing or is dead. When you spin the fan by hand you are effectively providing the push that the capacitor provides.

If you know what you are doing, the capacitor can be replaced.
