Fan only works on 1 speed?
Have just wired a fan with light and only 1 fan speed is working, is this a faulty switch.
Or could it be wired incorectly? Light and fan are operating independently..

Should have mentioned is a wall control was just a light fitting and light switch. At fan there is 4 wires la fa earth and the hot wire
I wired the earth to earth hot to hot and the neutral wire to the la. I then ran an extra wire directly to the switch and the fa bypassing the junction box in the roof as I didn't see a reason to wire it there. The wall switch was prewired came with the fan.
