    Fan motor won't operate
The fan portion of the ceiling fan won't work. The light that is attached to the fan goes on, so I know it's getting power. I pulled the pull chain and the switch clicks, so I don't think it's the switch. I took the housing off the wires and checked them, but now my fingers have this acrid, bitter smell to them; does that mean the motor has burned out? This is a ceiling fan in the bedroom which my wife has used every day since I installed it several years ago.
