    Is it mandatory to have 100 amp service in your house in order for you to be able to purchase home owners insurance

    I have heard of this yes. Some higher end Ins Co. won't insure with a 60amp service. :eek:

    Might not be true in ALL states etc.. But I have heard of it yes.

    Some won't even insure with fuses. You must have breakers.

    NEC now requires a minimum service of 100 Amps for new residences.
