    Ceiling fan wired wrong
Had an electrician wire my ceiling fan and when I slide the first switch the light and the fan work together but when I slide the second switch which should work just the fan, nothing happens. I tried getting hiim to come back and he always has excuses what can I do to correct this situation, how should it be wired so I can correct it myself.

How to Install Ceiling Fans and Wiring
You will need to have an additional wire for separate light and fan, and may be there.
If not, you can get a receiver/transmitter to allow separate control without the extra wire.

He wired it wrong. If you paid him already, make him come back and correct it.

I installed a fan (dimmable light and variable speed) a few years ago. The in-wall remote...

Wrong Ceiling Fan Switch? [ 2 Answers ]

I am about to have a nervous breakdown. I brought the original broken switch (that I have since discarded) into Home Depot with me, and I bought an identical switch with the same part# on it. The fan should have 3 settings plus "off." The fan will not, however, turn off. Both the repairman who...

Ceiling fan not wired correctly [ 4 Answers ]

I and neighbor put in a ceiling fan in the bathroom. It seems that the fan is not blowing the steam out. The fan is designed for a larger bathroom. I'm not a electrician but my thinking is to reverse the wiring to the poles so that the fan will work in the correct direction so that it will blow...
