Ceiling fan will only run on low with remote as control
I moved into a house that has a harbour breeze ceiling fan (two of them with this issue) that has a hand held remote. The remote works with the light and the fan will turn on only one speed. I'm assuming this is low. Regardless if I press high, medium or low I only get one speed. The receiver seems to be hooked up correctly. There are no pull chains.

I have other fans that have pull chains, that have remotes that work fine.

Do I need a new receiver?

    Probably, yes.

What happens when you push high, medium, does the LED still light?

    Thanks for the reply!

    Yes, the LED lights up.

If the fan is off and you press high, med, low then it will turn on to this one speed.

Since my last post I did but a new remote/receiver and replaced it. I get the same results with new set. So I would think that the remote/receiver is not the issue.

    Ideas?

The receiver, how does it wire into the fan, and where? Give me a detailed description of the wiring.
