Ceiling fan remote not working
We recently moved into a new home and all of the fans have remotes. The one in the master BR does not control the fan. We have to shut it off with the switch. The light is on, so we cannot run the fan at night which is when we like to have it on. The remote model #uc7o8ot. I do not know for sure which brand of fan it is. The light for the remote is always on unless I disconnect the battery. As soon as I hit another button it stays on again. There are no pull cords for the fan to shut the light off manually. Any suggestions?

Based on this item, I think you have a Hampton Bay fan, and the remote is actually "uc7080t". From your description, it doesn't sound like it is working correctly at all. If it is a NEW house, I'd go back to the builder under warranty.
Best of Luck,

Sounds like you have a button stuck on the remote. Check all the buttons, perhaps clean them on the inside (VERY CAREFULLY) and it may work. The LED should only light up when you push a button. After you get the LED working properly, confirm the remote and receiver are on the same frequency.

I have a Hampton Bay fan with the UC7080T remote control. The red light lights only when I press the buttons, but the remote does not control the fan or the lights. I checked inside the remote to note that the DIP switches are all set to OFF. There should be a corresponding set of DIP switches on the fan itself, but I can't find them to confirm whether they are all likewise set to OFF. Where do I look for the DIP switches on the fan?

I have had the same problem (which I did not resolve... ), but there are basically 16 different combinations of dip switch settings that you can try out on your fan. What you do is change the setting... see if it works... try again, until you have tried all 16 combinations. There is a listing online that I found, but I was unable to find it for this post. I did read in some fan instructions that you have to removed the battery while you change the dip switch setting. Hope that you get yours working.

Look in the ceiling canopy, on top of the motor, or inside near the light.

Or you can do as the poster above me suggests and try every possible combination, until you find one that works.
Does your fan have pullchains? I assume no.
