Ceiling Fan light kit won't work
:( I bought 2 light kits for our lightless ceiling fans and neither will work. We took the black and white wires from the fan labeled "live wires; for light kit" and hooked them up to the wires from the light kit. Black to black; white to white. Nothing works; we redid the wiring with different wire nuts, tried different light bulbs.

Can anyone help? The only thing that may be worth mentioning is that 2 of the light switches in this room control outlets (just the top of the electrical outlets). But that wouldn't matter, right? The fan works of a different switch. Can you wire a ceiling fan to never accept a light fixture?

Check and see how the fan is wired at the ceiling. You may need to connect the light wire.
