Ceiling fan light coming on by itself
My 10 yr old Hampton Bay ceiling fan light comes on entirely by itself. I've taken the light bulbs out of it to get some sleep. I also took the battery out of the remote just in case, and it still came on by itself. Any suggestions?
    Thanks, k8p

Both the remote and the receiver in the canopy have little dip switches to set the frequency code. Open both and flip just one switch, same switch on both. This will change the frequency they read and send. If you are getting a stray signal from some other remote this will fix you up

Thank you so much, I'll have to take the fan apart to find the switch, but I did find the one in the remote. I'll let you know if that does not work. Many thanks!
