    Bypassing Sump Pump Switch
The float switch on my sump pump broke off inside the switch, so I bought a separate float switch that plugs in through the outlet of the sump pump. However, I need to bypass the old switch. Coming out of the switch where two black wires, one white, and one red. In which way do I cap them off to put that switch in the "always on" position?

    Thanks!

Go to waynepumps.com - The manual is there. Unfortunately, it does not give the internal connections of the switch.

I want to understand what's going on so work with me. Your float rod broke, so you bought a new float kit, but cannot attach it to the top of the switch?

Or the new kit has a switch with it that you are trying to use on the exiting pump? Is it at all possible to just swap out the float rod and not use the new switch?

Maybe one of the plumbers that look at this site can help you.
