    Breaker keeps tripping
Storm tripped breaker. Next morning would not reset even with no load on it. Replaced and new breaker will not reset with a load. Traced lines in attic and could find no dead shorts. Found no scorch marks in room affected in lighting or in sockets. Any ideas short of hiring an expensive electrician?

    Hire a cheap electrician?

Seriously, you'd need to open and check every device, fixture and junction box on the circuit. Without being there on site there is NO WAY for us to see from here what the problem is.

Storm tripped breaker? And just how did that happen? Did something get wet, did you get hit by lightning... what exactly is it that makes you think the storm is the reason for the breaker tripping. Or did it just happen during the storm and therefore you are drawing a conclusion?
