    Bathroom wiring
I have power coming to a new bathroom and need to put in a gfi outlet,a ventilation fan, some lights and a jetted tub. Please draw me a schematic of how this should be done.If I need another line coming in please show where to take this power from. I would like a switch to control the vent fan and lights and another switch to control the jetted tub. THANKS

What I did in my bathroom will be different then yours. Depends on your system specs.

The jetted tub required (2) 15amp outlets 1 for the jets and 1 for the heater. Ran 12-2 (voltage drops) on a GFI circuit (GFI's at the panel) to that in 2 separate circuits.

Ran 12-2 (seperate circuit) for the outlets. Put an outlet roughly every 6 feet of wall. 20 amp breaker

Ran a separate lighting circuit of 15 amps (14-2) to handle the lights and the vent fan

    Good luck

    Vic,

Lets see here, you want a schematic inclusive of the jetted tub without seeing any type of plan.

Where are the electrical requirements for the tub alone? You know, that new wire may have to be pulled from the main panel to the bathroom. What is the current service at the panel, 100 or 200 amps?

Spend some time and draw out your physical plan for the room, get your electrical requirements together. Then resubmit your question.

Also, you will have get an electrical permit and inspection so you may want to consider professional help.

Diagrams and specifications take a great deal of time to produce. What your asking for is billable by engineering firms and design/build contractors.

As suggested by Don, best for some sweat equity and you produce a design with ratings and sizes, and we can review for changes to be made or some installation technique, or help with some specific questions.
