    Adding outlets
I want to turn my attic into another room. I need to add some outlets. Can I run the wiring from outlet to outlet or from junction box to each outlet?

Outlets are designed with two sets of screws for hot and neutral and thus power can originate at one outlet and then a cable from that one can be connected to another in the series and so on and so forth.

I would like to add a switched outlet (3way) to my living room. I read an earlier post that explained how to separate the top half and bottom half of a receptacle. Does it seem reasonable to tap into the 'always hot side' of this receptacle and add the switches to the bottom receptacle? If so,...

Adding outlets to older (50's) home [ 1 Answers ]

Supposing no upgrades need to occur with my homes main panel, what is a fair appraisal of how much it would cost to add a 220 outlet and breaker for a dryer and a few 120 outlets for a home office? Attic and basement are open and unfinished, so access shouldn't be too much of an issue. Also, if I...
