3-Way Light Switch Illuminated Toggle Question
    Hi:

Here's my dilemma. I have an outdoor flood light that is outside of the garage and has both a 3-way switch in the garage and in the house. Since I put in those windowless garage doors, I can't see whether the flood light is on or off, and many a night someone leaves the light on all night.

I purchased an illuminated 3-way switch for the inside thinking I could install it so that the toggle light would be ON when the flood light is ON and it would be pretty apparent that it need to be shut off if you walked by. Apparently, this is not the way it is designed to work, as it is more of a nightlight setup.

Is it possible to rewire this so it works this way? Or do I have to try to find another switch?

    Any help appreciated.

It would be much cheaper to find a switch that illuminates when the outdoor light is on, unless the location you want the pilot light has the neutral and switched leg feeding the outdoor light.
