    3 way lamp socket
If you replace a single lamp socket with a 3 way lamp socket, what size bulb do you use, 50-100-150 or 50-200-250? Existing single lamp socket says to use maximum 100 watt bulb.

If the existing socket says 100 watts that the maximum. Its not the socket that is the determining factor, its heat dissipation and the shade/globe.
