    3 prong wiring problem
    I am wiring a 3 prong dryer plug. My wire coming in has a white,black,red and a bare copper ground wire. Where does the bare wire go if anywhere? Thanks!

    What is the electrical requirement of the old and the new dryer, where they both 240 vac? Bare copper and green wire is a ground but answer ny question first please.

    If this is Number 10 and on a 30 Amp breaker, it could be OK.
    Check inside the panel and see where the wires are connected, particularly the white(Neutral) wuld need to be Identified at both ends with black tape, identifing as Hot and on the 30 Amp Breaker.
