    10.8K Shower tripping trip switch on circuit board
    Hi you

    Hoping you clever people can help me as I don't have a brain for any DIY stuff.

    Recently our shower has started to trip out our circuit box (flicking the switch down). I've looked about and can only think that it's the circuit overloading. The shower is a 10.8K which is 48a plus, but the circuit it seems to be on is 32a. What can I do to stop this tripping happening?

    Is there anything I can do easily without getting a pro in? I would do normally but I have "ZERO" cash currently.

    2nd. Question, has any plumbing been done in the area recently.

    If so, make sure that the plumber did not replace a section of metal pipe with PVC pipe. If that happened, then you may just need to put a metal to metal jumper bonded on both ends to maintain the continuity of the pipe.

    I'm really interested in knowing exactly what type of equipment you have. Also, it would be nice to know where you are located.

    Right well I'm unsure as to how to answer the question - the shower is a generic one which was at the house when we purchased it. The shower has been working fine for 6 out of the 7 years we've been here... the MCB board was replaced however a good few years ago and changed from the fuse wire type to the trip switch... but unsure if anything else was done.

    I'm not sure what else I can give you other than the fact I'm in the UK

    Electric showers are popular in the UK. There is nothing a DIY'er can do to repair these units. You need to call in a service tech to troubleshoot the unit.
