    O.o insect birth control?

well a drawback is sum very unhappy insects and the benefits are some very happy humans that don't have insect infestations in their homes hehehehe :P

    jokes aside.

"Many insects only mate once, lay their eggs and soon after die. They have short, but happy lives (just like pirates). Fine, now lets say there was this rather unpleasant insect that was causing all sorts of economic and medical problems, and even messing the windshields of cars. Okay, you nasty vermin, you shall reap the consequences of my wrath... First, we'll breed them in a laboratory and create millions of them. Then we'll shoot them with x-rays to make the males sterile. Then we'll release the sterile males all over the place. They will mate, but they and their mated pair will die, and they won't have any off-spring. Yes, the sterile males would have interrupted the entire life-cycle. How diabolical. - Wally"

Also, have a squidge at this: what are the benefits and drawbacks of insect birth control through sterilization?
    Hope this helps :)

    regards,
    Sebastien
