    Obviously the material is different from age group to age group. First graders learn different things then 5th graders. ;)

    The level of maturity is also different.

    Once you get to middle school and up the teacher becomes much more specialized in the subject matter. I.E. a high school physics teacher know a great deal about that one subject and likely very little about child psychology or development. The reverse would be true for a kindergarten teacher.

    Having the ability to relate to children is also something that differs. Some people work better with older kids or teenagers, while others may have more patience and be able to work well with younger children.
