    Wire haired breeds don't shed, are intellegent, and small, but need exercise, every dog needs exercise... for their own benefit and happyness... unless you plan on hiring a dog walker.. you could always get a cat.. (I'm not a cat person) but they can be affectionate and are perfectly content to live indoors...
