Hello, I have been training & crate training, our puppy for 2 weeks now, she is 12 weeks now. She seemed to get the go pee/poop outside idea. I am lucky to be home, so I can let her out as much as she needs. But, lately, she has been pooping back in the crate and in the house. Not sure what I am doing wrong. It seems like I let her out, she won't poop when I know its about 2 hours after she ate and she must have to, I stay out for 20/30 minutes and she won't go. I go back into my kitchen and she poops. I have used the stuff you spray so she won't like the smell of the area she already soiled. But she doesn't care. I am frustrated because I can take her out as much as she needs, freezing my own tail off! I do have other responsibilities too, and they are put on the back burner so often so I can tend to her, but instead of moving forward, she seems to be regressing. At night when the family goes to sleep, she is in the crate for 5 to 6 hours and that had been good for over a 8 days, in fact I was waking her up when I would come down to get her so I would do 6 hours, then take her out and she would pee- no poop. Now, she is pooping and barking all the time in the crate. Any advice?

I know with my dogs they do go poop at specific times, but they aren't specific to every dog... some will go at 10pm before bed, others it will be earlier like just after dinner.
One of mine doesn't go at night at all, she goes every morning when she wakes up. You need to figure out what time your pup goes.
SO does she poop in her crate during the day or is it only at night?

Where do you keep the crate? Living room? Bedroom?

I always keep new puppies in a crate right next to my bed until they are 100% trained.
I go as far as replacing my bedside table with the dog crate.
By putting them right next to you it makes them feel more secure. This is also great for pups that cry during the night.

If you hear pup wake up through the night don't let them out, but rather just poke your fingers through the wire to settle them back down so they go back to sleep.

My newest puppy Cyrus was terrible for crying and peeing in his crate overnight.
Moving him right next to me completely fixed the problem and over the next few weeks I just gradually moved the crate further and further away from our bed until the crate was finally where I wanted it (on the other side of the room).
