    Parvo Virus
my 7 month old pup name Master was tested positive Parvo Virus. He was admitted 10/04/2008 that time he still can stand and wagle his tail. Then the vet gave him fluids and other treatment to overcome the virus.

11/04/08 = I called the vet, she said he only vomits no bowel movement yet, still can wagle his tail

12/04/08 = The vet said Master still vomit like one time in the morning, no bowel movement yet, She tried feeding him but he just don't want. The vet said, maybe he is not used to the place, so she said most probably I can take him home Sunday.

13/04/08 = The vet told me he vomitted blood. And it is not a good sign. Still no apetite to eat. I asked the vet whether I can visit him. He was very weak when I saw him and he still tries to waggle his tail. :~~~~~

14/04/08 = Before work, I drop by and check on him again, still the same. The vet said he still vomits and this time got bowel movement. Still unstable.

this will be the 5th day he is in the vet clinic. Please tell me, is he pulling tru this battle. I am really worried sick. I bleach my house almost everyday. My hand skin starting to pilled off bcoz of the bleach. I prayed for his return so badly. My question is, Will he Pull Tru and how many days I need to wait?

Don't worry about the bleach except to protect other puppies. If he survives, he will be immune to parvo. See Canine Parvovirus, What you should know about

Hi , thank you for your concern. I'm so sorry to hear about the puppy that also affected with Parvo Virus. I will pray for him

To be frank, I don't have any clue about Parvo Virus until Master was tested positive. If you see any puppy that suddenly throws up, have diarreah and seem like to just lie down, don't wait act fast and send those babies to the vet.

Today 15/4 = it was the first time I heard a little improvent from master. The vet told me, since she leave the vet clinic yesterday 7pm till today morning, she didn't see any vommitting and diareah yet. She force a little food in him, so hope to see more improvement. He was still very weak, when I first came and greet him, he wagle his tail for a while. The vet will try to feed in again in another 2 hours.

Previously, there is another baby doberman next to Master cage, today there is another puppy is also affected with Parvo. Really sad, and I know how their owner really feel. And hope they are strong to fight the VIRUS. As master have fight for 6 days now. I hope your puppy will be strong to pull it tru. And after this, I really take precautions, I know Master will be immune with the virus, but I Don't WANT to spread it to another young puppy.

Will keep u guys update on Master. I prayers to all puppy that is fighting with parvo.

Try reading some of the advice on this thread. There are a few websites and such on page 3 that might help a bit.

Today I went to the vet clinic again before heading to work. Today will also be day 7 for Master battling this virus. The vet told me that he didn't vomit since yesterday. But he is still on IV fluids. The vet tried to force him to eat a little using syringe. I think 3 times, then he vomitted out. The Baby Doberman Rocky is progressing really well, He is not in drip anymore. I pray that both Master and Rocky will recover soon.

Thank you so much for the thread, I will keep update on Master progress..

Hi guys... Sorry for the late updates.

17/4/08 = I went to the clinic, and to my surprise I saw Master standing up and without his IV fluids and was really waglings his tail when he sees me. For the first time since he was admitted I saw him standing. The vet was feeding both master and the baby rotweiller named Rocky when I came in. The vet still need to Force master to eat, but he didn't vomitted. Rocky is fine too as he is able to eat on his own. Rocky was admitted at the clinic 2 days after Master. So happy that both Master and Rocky pull it tru.

The vet told me I can bring Master home. She said Master either maybe not used to the place that's maybe the cause he doesn't wants to eat or he forgot how to eat or swallow food. So I need to try feed him at home. So I also asked about Rocky, he is going home too. So both Master and Rocky was discharge on the same day. Thank you for your concern and prayers. I'm really deeply Appreciated it. Thank you.

Once reach home, So my next concern is will he eats. I tried offer yougurt, rice, I.D can food, porridge, and boiled slice chicken. All he rejects. So I need to forcely feed him. After forcing 3 syringe of I.D can food, I stop and chant.

My boyfriend suddenly sit down in front of him with his favourite treats and play tricks with him. Coz I used to play trick with him and giv him the treats. So I was SURPRISE again, he actually did the tricks and eat his treats. But because too hard to chew he throw it out. I immediately change his treats with boiled chicken slice, and he eats it without forcing him.
But I try not too feed him too much. I also make sure he drinks his electrolyte water.

I know I still got lot to do till he is back to his feet. Again I really thank you all. Thank you very much.

I'm sooooo happy to hear about Master! (and Rocky) That's fantastic news! :D Maybe once he gets rid of the fear of thinking that food makes him sick, he will slowly get back to eating normally again. And in the meantime, he gets yummy chicken too!

My 4 legged fur baby Nikia says... get better soon, dawg! Woof, woof! ;)

    Hi Jercey,

I assume the vet has recommended follow up visits? If he hasn't, I would make another appt. yourself just to make sure he is progressing as well he should be. You wouldn't want a set-back at this stage of the game.

Do you have any pics you can post of the little guy?
