    Our Boxer hurt her leg
Our boxer (15mts) played all day yesterday running around. Bed time we noticed that she was walking funny. This morning she can hardly walk on her back leg at all. She is laying down and not eating. We heard her whine a few times but for the most part she seems to just want to sit close to us and for us to pet her. We have also noticed a little swelling, so I don't believe anyting is broken. With today being Sunday and tomorrow a holiday we can't get her in to a vet until Tuesday. Is there anything that we can do for her to make her comfortable until then? Anything we could give her for pain?
    Thank You

If it's swollen, it could very well be broken, or badly sprained. The problem is the poor little guys can't tell you. I would call an after hrs vet, and a lot of times they have a answering service who will relay a message to an on-call vet. They will call you back and give you advice with no charge on the phone, on how to keep your dog comfortable until you can bring her in on Tues. They may even tell you to bring her in. It's a little pricey if you have to take her in on a Sunday or holiday, but if your dog is in pain, you must get her help. Good Luck! :)

A few more suggestions for you to keep her comfortable. If you have a heating pad, or a hot water bottle,. that may give her a little bit of relief, until she gets to the vet. A tensor bandage, not wrapped too tightly, may also be of some help. I don't want to recommend any home meds. they can interfere with the meds the vet might want to give her when you take her in, or could even be dangerous.

I have a boxer too who has over done it at the park looks like an old man trying to walk sometimes. Take it to the vet even one out of a highly populated area to get a better price. Call for prices. Make sure you get the dr to give you remdyl and buy more online for future problems! I did and I am glad I did!
