    Leaving puppy home
I have just gotten a 7wk old min pin/jack russel pup and as I work have had to leave him at home for a few days a week. I am feeling very bad about leaving him at home. We have someone that can go and see him a few times in the day and its four days of the week, he has a bed, chew toys, dry food and water. I just wanted to find out whether it was OK to leave them at such a young age? I have terrible visions of him crying for us while we're gone! I am going to try and get one of our neighbours pups (same age and also alone all day) to come and spend the day with him, how old must he be for me to do this? He has a garden too but at the moment I'm leaving him inside as its winter.
    Any advice appreciated :)

When we got my dog he was only 4 weeks old, which was really to young but we were told it was okay. He cried a lot at first and stuck really close to us. Thankfully he was never one to chew. But I hated leaving him alone while I was at school and if my mother wasn't home all day, she would turn on the T.V. or the radio, so the dog would be comforted by the noise. I have also heard that if you have an old shirt or something to put it in his bed so he will get your scent off it.

Well, so far my puppy has had no more accidents in the house, and sleeps in a crate at night now. She...
