Only two KC registered dogs can breed pups that qualify for KC registration.
Like Sariss said, Dachshunds are riddled with health problems, genetic defects etc. They also seem to be the breed of choice for backyard breeders and puppymills. Why, I don't know.
To be a legitimate breeder that will breed better bloodlines and good quality pups, you need to spend a lot of money for genetic testing, the best stud and or dam and the best health care available.
Legit breeders don't do it for the money, because really, they usually don't come out ahead. They breed to preserve the bloodlines, to better the breed.
Backyard breeders breed because they want to, think it's their right and for the money. They are they reason that so many genetic defects are being passed down to future generations.
Since you're asking this question, a question a legit breeder would know, I'm guessing you're a backyard breeder.
Please don't breed unless you know what you're doing in every respect.
