How long after my puppies final injection can I take him out?
My puppy is now 10 weeks old and he had his last injection yesterday. How long should I wait before I can take him for a walk and to other places?

The standard is about 2 weeks to be absolutely safe.
It takes the pup a while the build up an immunity to what it was vaccinated against.

Are you sure that was his last injection? Around here puppies get a set of three vaccines, usually starting around 6-8 weeks, boostered every 3-4 weeks.

Had to spread the rep Sariss but the same thing here.

Most puppies get their first set of shots between 6-10 weeks here, then there are 2 more sets of shots each following a 6 week period.

I think you guys misinterpreted that.

It would be like me saying "My last doctor visit was yesterday"
It doesn't mean I am never going to the doctor again.

Maybe, but chances are he's only had his first or second puppy vaccine, which is definitely not his 'last' vaccine of this year.

No it isn't his last vaccine for the year, I know that.

I am assuming the OP knows that too, his vet would have told him yesterday when his next vaccination was due and given him a vaccination card.

I understand that Shaz, but if it's not his last set of shots then it's not a good idea to take him out too much at this point.

He's not fully protected against parvo and other diseases, not until he's had all his shots, every round.

I'm just going by my vet, but she doesn't recommend going anywhere other then your immediate neighborhood until the puppy has had all 3 rounds of shots.

    Fair comment.
It depends on where they go I guess...
Dog parks would be a bad idea but I don't see a problem with a walk around the block...
That is just my opinion though... being that we have show dogs we socialise them from a very early age and have had no problems.
Better to be safe than sorry though I guess :)

Thanks for all your comments. No here dogs only have 2 sets of vaccinations as puppies at 8 weeks then at either 10 or 12weeks and then they have a yearly booster.
So the puppy is all protected now and just has his yearly back up in 2010.
