How do I get my Puggle to stop peeing in her crate?
I have a 8 1/2 month old Puggle named "Cha Chi". She is finally house trained, but still pees in her crate. She is in her crate when I'm at work only. She is spayed and can hold her bladder for periods longer than the time she is in the crate (at night she is usually asleep at 9pm and doesn't get up to go out until I get up for work at 6am). My fiancé leaves for work and hour later than I do, so he takes her out right before he leaves and gets her to pee, so I race home to let her out but keep finding she pees in there anyway! Then I have to wash her bed, her toy, cleanse the cage, it is getting REALLY OLD when this keeps happening every weekday. Please help!! Any ideas?

She's adorable! How long is she crated during the day?

Did this just start or has she always peed in the crate. Most dogs can hold their urine for 8 hours but to do it everyday is a stretch, I also think its not the right thing to expect of a pup

Can anyone, a neighbor or friend, come in at the midway mark and take her for a walk?

I think the dog is better at holding its urine at night because it's sleeping; 8 hours is a long time for what is basically a puppy.
I also feel sorry for a dog that has to live in its own urine.
Perhaps a larger crate, someone to let the dog out (as WG suggested)? I had a crate within a puppy fence when my dog was young because she couldn't hold her urine more than 4 hours and didn't want her to live in her "mistake" (which wasn't really a mistake after all).

Thanks for the suggestions, I did get to PetSmart at lunch and bought a door gate, new bed, and new toys to distract her. I'm going to try and put her in the laundry room (it will be bigger than the crate so she doesn't have to live in urine).

Have you consulted your vet about doing a urine test? A pup that's 8.5 months old and starts peeing 2 months ago does sound right.

Vet check is never a bad idea but good for you to get the gate, etc. You obviously care for your dog.

Shreve Stockton trained her rescued coyote to pee down the shower drain when he couldn't go outside (heavy snow, severe storm, etc.).
