My german sheperd looks skinny
Hello,
I have a one and half year GSD male named Rocky. My GSD looks pretty skinny but it eats well, eats everything we keep him. His diet consists of fish and rice as our vet told he is having some kind of skin allergy we are not feeding him Beef, lamb and chicken. Daily we feed him with Mackerel and rice. He looks energitic and plays well. All my neighbours tells that our dog as become thin. During our past 4 visits with vet, we checked his weight and he maintain is weight around 33kg - 35kg. Please helo me I want to know whether is he suffering some prob or is he OK. Can I feed him some different food other than fish and rice. Please help!!

The person to discuss this with is your Vet. I would not listen to neighbors (unless, of course, they are Veterinarians) and/or people who have never seen your dog. His weight is pretty meaningless without his height.
I had an extremely slender (which I prefer over "thin") GSD. He simply was thin his whole life - was active and lived to be 12. He was on no special diet and his food was not portioned out. He was simply not a big eater. My Vet said he was healthy, and so I trusted that he was.

I never want to see a fat G SD! Large breed working dogs, active lifestyle, are as they are supposed to be, lean. Especially when they are prone to hip displaysia, weight is their enemy. Anyway, you were advised this fish diet for him specifically so why would you want to change it because of a nosy neighbour! Just keep him happy and healthy.
