FREE natural ways to help heal your sick dog
I live on an island in the middle of the South China Sea, Palawan, Philippines at the end of the earth.

My dog Monty is 5 years old, a Taiwanese street dog of great intelligence.
Till last night at 11pm has always been healthy. Even as of yesterday morning he is full of energy and we both swam together our usual long swim and ran on the beach.

His diet is mostly fresh coconut, cooked and raw veggies and a little fish (fresh and dried, soya/seaweed biscuits soaked, garlic, coconut oil with regular small amounts of Diatomaeous Earth DE for worms.

My other dog Josh, a little older is fine.
Monty came in around 11pm and was distressed.
His breath was very rapid, wheezing, slightly heaving.
His eyes and senses were bright.
I gave him reiki and rescue remedy and lots of massage for 4 hours...
Thinking possible poisoning, I gave him 4 diatabs (charcoal)
I slept for 2, and now luckily find him still alive.

He is still the same though tongue is pale, gums maybe just a little pale
He will walk slowly around to be near me if I move.
    He is listless.
    I have given more charcoal.

Where to start next, please help

I'm so sorry but I am one of those people who rely highly on vets and medicine when my dog is sick.

Are there no vets near you at all?

Charcoal does usually help with an upset stomach, has he been throwing up or just the pale gums and tongue along with the wheezing?

Pale gums indicate dehydration, get as much fluids into him as you can, if you have pedialyte there or some form of electrolyte give that to him as well.

I'm sorry, hopefully someone here can help you, I will send a message to a few other people on this site.

Can you get your hands on some pedialyte? If so, at least 2 tbsp every half hour, until his gums and tongue are back to normal color. Pedialyte is used for dehydration in children but also works very well for dogs and is entirely safe.

If this is poisoning then there's very little you can do other then what you are already doing. Your best bet really is a vet, but being on an island that may be hard to come by.

Time will tell. Until then, do what you're doing, include the pedialyte and please keep us posted.

That sounds a lot like warfarin poisoning. Has there been a rat problem nearby? Check to see if his feces are dark. If they are he has blood in his digestive tract, which is likely from an injury. If his stool is pale as well as his gums and tongue, then he has possibly gotten into some rat poison which charcoal won't help with.

    Vitamin K is the antidote.

Is there a doctor of any type on the island? Talking about it with them would be better than relying on the internet.

Natural ways to get rid of Depression [ 19 Answers ]

I was wondering if anyone knew any natural ways to get rid of depression. I have a friend that is very depressed and I'm trying to help him out and I don't want him to get on anti-depressants because they're the leading cause of suicide (im not positive but I think). Anyway, any tips would be great.
