    Dog poopping in sons room
Hi this is my first question...
Just wondering if any one else has this problem or had this problem.
My dog poops in my sons room on his car mat, then I removed his car mat and moved it downstairs and he - dog- pooped in his room with out the car mat and on the car mat downstairs, not sure why this is happening. He goes out for walks, gets love everyday and night. Im home all the time, well most of the time. The dog is allowed every where in our house. This is the only thing he does that is now really getting to me and have no clue what to do. I can't keep my sons room closed all the time as my son is nearly 3 and he like to play in his room while I clean upstairs. I involve the dog in every thing we do as much as possible.

    Any help would be great.
    Thank you
    Lee

I have friends that professionally train dogs. Kennel training dogs is not evil at all. Put your dog in an adequate size kennel in the house for a couple hours then let him outside for 10 min. or so and repeat the process for a couple of weeks. It will reaffirm to your dog where it needs to go potty and he will also have a nice little home all to himself.

This really sounds like a pack status issue to me. The key to most behavior problems is approaching things using the dog's natural instincts. Dogs see all the people and dogs in the household as a pack with each having their own rank in the pack and a top dog. Life is much easier if the 2 legged pack members outrank the 4 legged ones. You can learn to play the role of top dog by reading some books or going to a good obedience class. A good obedience class or book is about you being top dog, not about rewarding standard commands with a treat. Start at http://www.dogsbestfriend.com/ For more on being top dog, see http://www.dogbreedinfo.com./topdogrules.htm That site has some additional pages on dogs and children you need to check.
