Make sure you use a good enzyme cleaner. I like using a solution of vinegar, water and tea tree oil to neutralize the odour. Sounds like it's a dominance thing, if he is doing it while you guys are in the room. Sounds like he is making sure you guys know that--that is his territory, not yours. Do you let your dog sleep in the same bed as you? If so, you might want to reconsider this. You need to show him that you guys are the boss, and that's YOUR room, not his. YOu should also discourage him being on the furniture as well.Does this happen at night or anytime you are all in the room? You might want to consider crating him at night, you can bring the crate in the same room as you guys, but it will be a quick way to show him his place from yours.
