    After 10 years, my female Shih Tzu started peeing on my couch.
    She peed six times in 8 days. Two times, she did it 20 minutes after she had just been walked. She'll do it right next to me or my wife without hesitation. She had accidents before, but she would do it on the bathroom rug (out of view of anyone). She was never so casual about it, or would she have an accident so often. Why would she do it on top of the coach? She sits up there more than I do. It’s her favorite place to chew bones, sleep or just hang with the family.

    We had her spayed 3 years ago after she developed vaginal hyperplasia. The swelling was so bad, we had to have the protrusion surgically removed as well. Is this peeing problem mental, physical or a behavioral problem?

    I think firstly you need to have her checked out by a vet, it could be an infection.

    If that is not the case then look further... maybe an anxiety problem or attention seeking, or perhaps you have changed something recently that she dis-likes, it could be any number of things.

    Please have her checked out first, just in case it's not her fault and she needs some treatment from the vet to set her straight again.
