My 5 month old Siberian husky has started pooing in his crate the last four days help
My 5 month old Siberian husky is put in his plastic crate only at night and when no one is home. He has been doing great. No longer goes potty in the house but the last four days he goes in his crate not at night but when I have to put him in there to go to work, the store or when he can't go with somewhere. I'm at my wits end he was doing so well then all of a sudden he just starts pooping in there again what do I do?

Again? So he did this before?

Is he just pooping? Or is he peeing? Or both?

5 month old puppies get into everything.. I'd check him for worms.

Also.. feeding a higher quality food helps tremendously with house training. Anything purchased from grocery stores or wal-mart is no good. Iams is an OK food, but you can always do better. Anything with colored kibbles is a no-go

Husky's are very energetic breeds.. even though he is only 5 months old, this little guy needs to be ran ragged at a dog park or large piece of land. Tired dogs are always good dogs.. and if he has time to think about it, he will chose to be naughty.

Yes when we first got him he went potty in there about a week then stopped due to not wanting to be in it. Has been doing great. Then 4 days ago he started back up not sure if he is peeing to or not but he is pooping. He has been cleared from worms. He is an in door dog except for potty and play time when it's not to hot. I'm still feeding him what my breeder had him on purina puppy chow

The fact that you say he doesn't go at night I am wondering if it could possibly be separation anxiety. Dogs still have a sense of security knowing you are in the house even though not in the same room, but once you leave it's a different story.

Purina is a brand I've used, but I have to say, when it comes to food, it's not top quality. It is cheap, which is why many people desire it, but it's mostly filler. The more filler, the more poop. If you decide to change foods based on this info, please let us know. There are right ways, and wrong ways, to change a dogs food.

Having said that. How long is puppy left in the crate during the day? At 5 months it should be no longer than 5 hours max. Is it more than that?

Not asking to make you feel guilty, or like a bad owner. People have to work, people have to go places dogs aren't allowed. But at 5 months, more than 5 hours is too much. Is that a concern?

How often is puppy walked, and when is puppy walked after a meal?

So what would be a better brand to use for a husky? I know how to change the food over. He is in there about 6 hours max. We never had a problem though till 4 days ago. But our schedule has changed a lot to and I'm thinking that's what it may be as well

Change is a big reason why many dogs revert to bad potty habits. That very well could be the issue.
