My 18 week old puppy pit sometimes pees on comorter/down, what should I do?
My puppy "GUIDO" is about 18 weeks old, he stopped with the pooping in the house for a while, then today i found landmines in the dining room.. i cleaned with pinesol.. ugh
He also, on occasion pees on comforter/down... we've thought about a crate or a nice outside dog house with lots of cushions/and pillows for this warm weather... but i feel that the other dogs (2) since they are trained he will feel hurt? Is that silly? And i don't want an angry resentful pit bull... that breed needs to be raised with a lot of pure love or he may one day lash out!! Help?!

I would not suggest leaving any dog on it's own for extended periods, unless all dogs were out side, and then again I am not a fan of having strictly out door dogs. Dogs left to their own devices usually end up getting into trouble of some sort. ;)

Does Guido only mess when you are not home? A crate is an excellent idea. Most dogs learn quite quickly when being crated. If he is messing even while you are home, you will have to go back o the basics. Every time he eats or drinks, he goes out side. You may have to hang out there with him until he does his business, and once he does you praise like mad. Lots of "good boy's" and maybe even a small treat. Plenty of time out doors with you and lots of exercise. The more often and the longer you walk the dogs, the more chances they have to use the bathroom out doors, which makes it less likely for him to have accidents in the house. Remember, with puppies and small dogs even one morsel of kibble can put pressure on their bowels and make them need to eliminate.

If all the dogs play together, make sure they are all let out after wards because playing and exercise produces the urge to need to use the bathroom.

If you take a look around the dogs forum, you will find lots of info on house breaking. If you need anything more, just ask!
