The U of Springfield is NOT listed as an accredited school by the US Dept of Education. Thist means its "degrees" would not be recognized by others. Here's a web site that allows you to search for accredited US schools in the Department of Education database:

U.S. Department of Education Database of Accredited Postsecondary Institutions and Programs

    Dear sir/madam,

Thanks for your answer to my question.

Please, help verify the authenticity of the information contain in the attached copy mail send to me by the university representative to back up their accreditation claim.

    The university of springfied
    Park campus. Hampton MA 01107
    U.S.A
    Website: springfied-edu.com

    BELOW IS THE COPY MAIL:

Thank you very much for your mail.

The University of Springfied is a household name of the Springfield College. The University provides equal educational opportunity to all candidates without regard to color, race, sex, national origin, or qualified disability.

Springfield is a registered educational institution in the United States, recognized and listed in the directory of Post Secondary Institutions by the U.S. Department of Education, National Centre for Education Statistics, Washington DC (1998 Edition Page 291). The Institution is legally empowered to award degrees to all students who meet graduation requirements as set forth in its Article of Incorporation.

Graduates are allowed to do Masters in any of their favourite schools. All students both on campus full time and distance learning online receive the same award certificate according to the University’s Article of Incorporation, which means distance learning is not written on degree certificate awarded by the University.

If you do a search using the web site I referenced, you will see that Springfield College is accredited. Here's their web site:

    Springfield College

I see nothing that says Springfield College and University of Springfield are the same school.

What kind of accreditaion fallacy is this university?
Now, the issue is not using the website to confrim their accreditation, the university of springfied has send a reply already to back their accreditation claim, the way out is how expert can verify their claim and find out the name affiliation whether there is connection between springfied college and the university of springfied.

Please, expert and professor on accreditation issue on distance education should do justice to this question?

Anyone can CLAIM that they are accredited. The burden of proof is on them. In this case, it seems as though they are trying to misguide you with similar names.

The 'expert' is you. If the DOE website does not list them as accredited, they aren't. Heck... look at the web address of the "University of Springfield". Its not even a .EDU site - it's a .COM. The fact that they have to use a trick like that is shady to begin with.

I would take anything they say with a grain of salt.

Look at their email address and website - it isn't even Springfield. Its "The University of Springfied" Note the missing L. This is not a typo and can be verified. They aren't affiliated with Springfield College. While their email might be true that Springfield College is recognized... they are not.

Thanks for your contribution, please the bone of contention is not about colleges using .com as their web or email address instead of .edu or removing “L” from original college name “Springfield” to “Springfied” . The subject matter in focus is to help investigate how correct the accreditation information The University of Springfied put before all experts, which I believe u have read through, that is what also brought up the issue of Springfied college affiliation from their accreditation claim.

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and sounds like a duck, it probably is a duck. In this case it looks like a scam, walks like a scam and sounds like a scam, it probably is.

I can find no falsehood in their claim that Springfield College is an accredited school. I can also find no indication that the University of Springfied is associated with Springfield College. If you read their letter closely, they never even claim that they are associated. Just that they are known by them. The letter also does not state that University of Springfied is accredited.

Save your money - they aren't accredited.
