How is SSDI calculated for back pay benefits for children
I get SSDI. I was approved in 4/2009 and was determined disabled as of 7/2005. In 6/2009 I applied for child benefits. If I am approved will they get back pay? If yes what date do they calculate the back pay? As of 7/2005 the date I was found disabled? As of6/2009 the date I applied for child benefits? Or as of 7/29/2009 the date I dropped off a copy if my 2005 taxes that they requested to approve my application? Thanks for your help.

Since you applied for child benefits 6/09 I would say they would start the benefits starting 6/09 so your only effected disability would be from 6/09 on.

As of 6/2009 the date I applied for child benefits

The children will get back benefits from the date you originally applied for the benefits. June, 2009.
