    Start Up Problems
    I have just bought a new monitor but on start up I am getting a error message "Check your pc and signal cable".

    Can anyone advise me what to do?

    havard, hi, are you still having problem with your "new monitor"? You might want to check out the monitor cable 'cause it happens when the cable pins are bent, if any. I suggest also checking the mouse and keyboard wire pins. Now if you don't see any bent pins at all in any of them, you might want to un-plug any USB cables. The USB cables sometimes cause the computer to hang and all you would see is a black screen with an upper left blinking cursor. Also check your BIOS setup to see if there are any sort of conflicts, especially if you have a COMPAQ computer, 'cause its BIOS settings, or the lack of a good BIOS setup, can cause a lot of weird things you would not expect. :)
