No power at all to my computer having just built it.
    Hi all.

(I have asked this question in Computers for beginners too but no answer yet so though I would put the question in here, hope no duplications occur!)...

Just put together (for the first time in my life) a computer. Dual Core 4600x AM2 computer with liquid cooled heat sink and Asus M2N32 SLi deluxe motherboard.

I believe all is correctly connected, I have done lots of research before connecting any parts and tried my best to understand what everything does etc so i.e. not just "whacking it together willy nilly" so to speak.

There is absolutely no power there neither has there ever been. All the parts are brand new and I fitted a 700w PSU. No light comes on, on the motherboard... normally there is a green light that shines at different brightnesses depending on whether it is asleep etc... but nothing there either.

I am very concerned as its cost me a fortune and now all is together I am worried that something may have blown... or the power supply is faulty even though new?

    Please help

My boyfriend put together the computer I'm at the minute it could be your power pack int working or you haven't got anoth memory to power your computer. We have a problm with ours that is either our power pack or memory isn't enough to run the computer or even the mother board and if it's that we wasted £120 on a mother board that don't work. Maybe you should take it to PC world and see if they no

On the power supply check if the voltage selector switch (if there is one) is set to 115V(North America) and not 230V (most other Countries).

The motherboard will have an LED which lights showing that power is going to the board, is this the light you are talking about?

Take a look Here. Use a paper clip and connect pin 16 to pin 17, it will turn on the power supply, if it is working.

If not, then you have a defective PS. Bring it back to the store.

Also, I'm sure you checked, but make sure your liquid cooling setup is not leaking, or that some of the liquid got onto the motheboard during install.
