When I got up this morning my throat was (and still is) very sore, it hurts to swallow and when itry and open my mouth it hurts, and feels Very stiff. Is this normal or am I just coming down with something ontop of that

You might have an infection. This can be very serious if you don't have it checked out. I have known people to have almost died from tooth infections.

Where in Alberta are you? Do an internet search on free dentistry and see what comes up.

If nothing turns up, call some of the dental offices near you. They might be kind enough to allow you to set up a payment schedule. If not, find out how much it would cost for an initial consult and see if anyone you know, parents or friends, might loan you the money until you get yourself on your feet.

Good luck! Hopefully it can be treated easily and inexpensively with a course of antibiotics for now. The dentist may recommend removing it if it has been a continual source of infection. Find out how much that will cost. You can opt to put that off until you can get the money pulled together.

I don't envy you that at all I had two of mine out back in October last year I had 15 months of agony due to being pregnant and then having to wait 6 months before they would pull them shudder.
If you can find a way of seeing someone this week I would because you really don't want to be in as much pain as I was for such a long period, clove oil will soothe the pain and numb the area but it tastes really vile.
Good luck and I really do hope you can get it looked at asap xx hugs

    Oh dear, toothache!
It could be an infection, but your sinuses are all interconnected so it's not uncommon to feel the affects in your throat or your nose.

    Get to a dentist ASAP.

The cheapest way to fix the problem is to have the tooth removed - it's fairly cheap, and you won't miss a wisdom tooth. You could have root-canal treatment to cut away the bad nerve and clean up the infected tissue, but a wisdom tooth probably isn't worth keeping, so go for the cheap option.

In the meantime, take anti-inflammatory pills (paracetemol, or whatever you prefer) and clean your teeth thoroughly - use an extra-strong mouthwash (don't use mouthwash too often, because it dries the mouth, but sometimes it's a good way to kill bacteria).

If your gum is infected, use an analgesic gel such as anbesol. If it's an acclusion - a hole in your tooth - use clove oil.

You will find that when you try to sleep at night, that's when the pain gets worse - it happens when you lie down - so take painkillers before bedtime.

From now on, clean your teeth EVERY day, and use dental floss (use it gently) because there is a high chance that your other teeth are also at risk; you may already have another tooth dying on you, but you don't know it yet! Prevention is better than cure
