This is Question
For the past year I have had work on Teeth # 5.
First it was irritation on the gum.
First a simple filing close to the gumline was done. The pain came back and I a was referred to the endodontis for root canal and a crown was placed

The pain came back. It seems like it was the gum, The pain feels deep close to the root and pain and irritaion on the gum line.
A was referred to a Periodontist.
The perio did a cleaning and I was doing my work at home cleaning the gums twice day. Every time it bleed. But it never got better.
I went to two different periodontist.
The periodontist suggested to remove the crown. Crown was removed and a temporary was placed.
The pain continue so the root canal was done for a second time.
The gums continue to be irritated, bleading and constant pain.
Now the general dentist suggest to go to a ENT specialist. (have not done that yet)

I am now with a temporary crown.
Also I have benn on antibotics two different times and it did not help

I asked about my possibilities. I thinking that I have to have the tooth pull. I do not want to live in pain all my live.
I have spend so much money on this tooth. At this point I don't really mind I just to get my health back.

The General dentist thinks that it is sad because her diagnosis is that the tooth is healthy.
However it seem like nobody can find the cause of the pain.

Can somebody help... Please, please

Have they ruled out a crack in the root?

I had a root canal followed by endondontal surgery in March 2007 and the pain has never completely gone away but my teeth also appear to be healthy. Some days are better than others and I've been on and off antibiotics since November 2006. Like you, the cost has been very high.

I've had 2 different crowns.

I have no answers for you so I'm offering sympathy - it's just frustrating when no one has an answer.

They have take many.. many x-rays and have not mention a crack in the root.

The Dentist told me - and Flossie is the expert so I don't really know - that it could actually be pain from another tooth or damage to the nerves which is simply not calming down.

I no longer have sensitivity to cold so maybe (fingers crossed) mine is getting better.

In my case the Dentist made a mistake originally and it was left up to the Endodontist to correct it.

Judy is right, you could be getting "referred pain" from another tooth. There IS a chance that the tooth could be cracked down the root. The only way to find out is to remove the crown and the core (filling under the crown) to take a good look at the area. Do you have any pain when you bite on the tooth?

For the gums and bleeding, try using a extra soft toothbrush wet and dipped in baking soda to clean the area and rinse with warm salt water. Another thing you could use is tea tree oil diluted for rinsing the area.

No pain when I bite. The pain is on the top portion of tooth close to the rooth of the tooth and on the gumline.

Where I can find tee tree oil.

Tea tree oil is found in health food stores. You want to get the best quality you can find. Mix 5 drops in 1/4 cup of water and swish.

Have you called the dentist who originally placed the crown to have him/her look at it?

I am not seeing the general dentist that originally put the first crown.
I decided to change after I could not get any answers from her.
Since I have seeing another general dentist, two periodontist and an Endodontist.

The general dentist wants me to go to an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist.
Should I look for another general dentist opinion?
Do you a good dentist in the Altanta area?

I'm sorry but I don't know any dentists in the US. I have no idea why you would be sent to an ENT though.

Perhaps it might be a good idea to go see another general dentist. Don't tell him/her what has been said to you already, just let him/her know your concern about that particular tooth.

If you have to have a new crown done you will have to pay for all of it out of your pocket since you don't want to go back to the original dentist.
