    Crown lengthening and root canal
    Hi

I had a root canal done on my first upper back molar and it was sore for a few days after it was done and even after that it was never completely normal. It felt a little like its root tips inside the bone were a bit strange - not achey or pain- just a little weird. Two months later, I have had a crown lengthening procedure on that tooth and it feels very painful even after 7days and I need 800mg of ibuprofen to control the pain. The procedure involved removing bone and soft tissue. The pack that was put in the surgical area is now removed and it is still sore in that area. But apart from that, when I touch the tooth with my tongue or I touch and push it downwards towards its roots, it hurts. The last time I went to the dentist 3days ago, he said that it looked fine and there was no sign of infection. Even then I had the same amount of pain. Now I am in the 7th post-op day.

Is this normal or is it some sort of infection? I have no swelling or anything but the root parts are hurting. Please help!
