    Every state has laws of inheritance that specifies a succession of relatives who would inherit. If no living relatives exist, then it may revert to the state.

    Why risk this when you can create a simple will disposing of your property the way YOU want. If you have no relatives, leave the property to your favorite charity.

    I live in California and have seen that very thing happen. CHOOSE who you want your home to go to. I say create a Living Trust.
