Doesn't really sound to me like he is completely over her. To be honest, I am surprised that he told you that he got the butterflies. Suppose you could take that as a sort of "positive" that he is being honest, but I wouldn't like it. Does he see her a lot? Guess it would depend on how she feels about him. If she has those same feelings, if it were me, I wouldn't feel very confident and secure in the relationship. I am guessing that is the way you are feeling, as I would think most would be feeling the same.

You have three main options. Just be thankful that they are as simple as this. One: You can break up with him if you think this is going to lead to him chasing her more or if you think it will arise jealousy problems from you since now you now this information and are not really up to having to deal with those things. Two: You might consider yourself the rebound, in which all you would have to do is talk to him about it, break up with him (if needed) and move on with your life. Three: Or, You can also ignore this, ignore it like it never happened, take a trustful step (since he is telling the truth) and trust him that even though he might still have a little bit of feelings for his ex, he is with YOU, and that those will eventually die down and you can finally be the only girl in his life.

I don't know how HE is, but once I fall in love, I NEVER fall out. Yes, circumstances of one sort or another prevented the relationship from continuing, but none of that stopped how I felt about the person. Yes, I still love Jane Crocker. That didn't work out because we were in the 4th grade.

But, being in love with a long list of ladies, NEVER stopped me from falling in love again. Maybe, one of these days it'll work out.
