Should I move on and how?
Hey everyone, I've got a tough situation. My ex left me three months ago and I'm not sure how to handle it.
Here's the story, we dated for a year, he was my first boyfriend and we were both 18 at the time. At one point the subject of kids came into a conversation. A subject I always hate because I NEVER want kids when I'm older. This being part of the reason I don't date much. And of course his dream in the future is to be a father... so that's the main problem. And yes I realize we obviously shouldn't stay together because of this. But were still so young, kids shouldn't be an issue at this point with college starting up. Anyway we both agreed to wait a couple years, see if anything changes and deal with the problem then. Several months past and he seemed distant, not as lively with everything. Then one day he got upset over something, refused to talk or see me. I did text him several times a week to see if anything changed. He would repeatedly say he was upset over something but didn't know what. Anyway to cut a long story short, after a month of this I had enough and imed him to leave, and he spilled it. How he couldn't handle the idea of dating me and losing me in a couple years, that it would be too painful. In all honesty he was very selfish in that conversation.
I didn't handle it too well, we tried to be friends but he would get angry easily and I was too emotional so in the end I decided I was done. I always was the one to do everything while dating him, I wasn't going to do it for friendship if he was going to be angry with me all the time. So I went a month without much contact, family issues came up on his side so I kept tabs on how that was but that's it. Now, three months after the break up, he's marketing an effort to fix our friendship. And despite everything I know we both still deeply love each other, but I don't see any hope in getting back together.
Is there any? And if not how can I move on when it ended because of that one problem? How do I handle the next relationship and handle the problem?

Any advise would be appreciated ~Ashley

Well there is no easy way to deal with a break up. The best thing there is for you to do is to try and forget about him. As for what will happen with your next relationship, it all depends on what type of person they are. If you don't want to have kids then try finding someone who thinks like you. There are other people out there that don't want kids either, you just have to look.
