He is a child of privilege . His mommy is an Oscar nominated movie maker . His dad is a "distinguished" professor at Columbia U . No public schools for him !!

He tried to get into elite private High Schools. That did not work out.The admission process proved too competitive. He settled for a private school in the Bronx which had an integrated jazz band .

He got his . What about the rest of NY's brightest students ? Not happening if he is mayor . He wants to get rid of the whole concept of competitive schools .

You see ;if the children do not get the opportunity to succeed ;they will forever be dependent on the nanny welfare state . (except for the children of the privileged ruling class of course .For them there is still parental choice )

This is good for the teacher's unions who endorsed him. He wants to give them total say in the school system. This way they get their pay without actually teaching the kids.

Ironically that is the position il Duce Cuomo had before he caved in to the Dem state legislature and signed a big tax increase. Now he is running against Mamcommie and is again saying the rich are over taxed in the state.

It goes back to the point why blue states have the opportunity to set up any socialist universal health care program they want;But will not do so. In the states they have to find a way to pay for it . But if the Federal government does it ;they can pass the cost on to future generations .
