Assuming they select Kam the Sham as their standard bearer they need to select a VEEP candidate. I assume they will want to balance the ticket which means that California Guv Newsom is out. They probably don't want a crazy loon lefty or anyone from the SQUAD . They probably want someone who is from a battleground state. They probably want someone who has actually lead .

They do have a bench that were prepared for a drubbing in 2024 and were planning to make their move in 2028 .

Among them are :
Illinois Guv Pritzker . He runs a failed state and is a lefty loon.
Guv Whitmer Michigan of the fake kidnapping. Would the Dems put 2 women on the ticket ?

Senator Mark Kelly Arizona the only non-Guv on my list . He's a former astronaut who flew 3 shuttle missions ; and a Navy combat pilot who flew missions during Desert Storm .He's also spouse of Gabrielle Gifford . Gun control would become a hot topic. He is a solid choice.

Guv Roy Cooper NC . NC is a battleground state that often trends red. His strength is that he won Guv as a Dem . He is a safe pick in that he has a working relationship with Kam.

Guv Josh Shapiro Pennsylvania . If they had any brains he should be the frontrunner. Pa. often determines the outcome. One big issue. He is Jewish and that could be a divisive issue for the radical Dem antisemites . He is a natural leader successfully governing a state with a divided government . For the Dems he is considered "moderate" .

All of that is under the presumption that Harris is their choice for Prez.

So far the emperor has not given his official blessing . Instead he said he has “extraordinary confidence that the leaders of our party will be able to create a process from which an outstanding nominee emerges.”

So what happens if they have an open process to select their candidate as Vinod Khosla; billionaire Dem donor wants?

The people on the list above could possibly be challengers . In addition ; an opportunity for others both extreme lefty and moderates opens.

Turns out the emperor is less than pleased that Kam the Sham is steamrolling towards the nomination. He doesn't think she can win. He wants Kelly .

Trump dodged 2 bullets . The first one was the assassination attempt that grazed his ear.
Another one was the Dems genuflecting at the alter of Kam the Sham . The emperor and Michelle knew . They held out as long as they could . Then they succumbed to the wave .They made a tepid endorsement on the phone.

It is not over until the fat lady squawks . But it appears to be a done deal .
The emperor was holding out for Mark Kelly. I mentioned it before but it is worth repeating .

This is not the way it was supposed to go down. What they planned for was Clueless Joe’s debate disaster followed by a quick announcement he would not run for President . There would be a pseudo virtual open primary where Mark Kelly’s assentation would be finalized.

What ? Kam the Sham is the DEI choice right ? Well yeah but you know; the people have spoken yada yada .

Joe sabotaged the arranged process by being forced out kicking and screaming. Then in an act of “up yours “ to the Obamas ,he immediately endorsed Kam . She then to her credit rapidly consolidated her position . The emperor was forced to reluctantly endorse her (although as suggested I won’t believe it until she is officially the nominee probably through a virtual process before the Dem convention)

Trump will not have an easy time beating Kam . The Dems ground game is heads over heals better than the Repubs. That's because until recently the Repub National Committee was awol.
Had Mark Kelly been the nominee I doubt Trump’s chances.

He spent days at the hospital holding her hand .

One possible problem however is that Kelly has not come under scrutiny of a national campaign. He is a freshman Senator who will have only served 4 years of a 6 year term if he becomes Veep. That probably works to his advantage.

What I did not anticipate is the level of hostility the progressives have against him because of his Jewish faith .

But the big bugaboo is he is Jewish . Kam's consideration “set off alarm bells” among young voters, Muslims, Arab Americans and activists. He has been labeled "Genocide Josh" among the left's activists .

They brazenly say that although Clueless Joe delivered for them ;he squandered his good will with the left supporting Israel. Now they point out Illinois Guv J.B. Pritzker is also Jewish and an Israeli supporter. But unlike Shapiro has not taken action in his state to legally opposed antisemitism .

That being said ;this is why Shapiro should refuse the offer if given.

Had there been a legit Dem primary ;people like Shapiro and Kelly would've attacked Kam the Sham for policies they will be forced to support if they are the VP running mate. Kam ,despite her current lies ,wants to shut down fracking . Fracking is critical to Pennsylvania's economy. In fact ;supporting Kam's positions on fracking ,immigration ,guns ,crime would be detrimental to his future . I think putting on the ticket far from guarantees the Dems taking the state. If Trump wins the state and Shapiro's brand is tarnished he will be finished .
