Flashback 1950 . Kim Il-Sung’s NORK army invaded South Korea. They advanced rapidly and was on the verge of taking over the whole peninsula before the US intervened. President Truman ordered General MacArthur to deploy his troops stationed in Japan to Korea. The NORKS were quickly stopped and pushed back to the 38th parallel dividing line .

Then the US forces (oops I mean " UN forces ")drove into North Korea , seized the capital Pyongyang, and continued to advance towards the Chinese border .

China had 300,000 troops stationed there and used them to push the American troops back to the border .

There the fighting stalled while thousands of troops on both sides died.
Ike campaigned on the promise to end the war . After winning the election and before inauguration Ike fulfilled a promise to go to Korea. He met with South Korean President Syngman Rhee who was determined to fight to victory (or to the end of every American) . Ike said NO

Instead negotiations began . After 189 days in office his administration negotiated an armistice ;one that still holds over 70 years later .

After Russia invaded Ukraine Frbruary 2022 ; they advanced rapidly . Then Ukraine forces with the help of NATO (US) arms bravely pushed back . By November of 2022 the 2 armies were bogged down in a war of attrition with both sides advancing and retreating at a snails pace. Despite Zelensky's vow to retake all of Ukraine ;and Clueless Joe's pledge to keep supporting him "for as long as it takes" ; in truth they know that the goal is not achievable without direct troops on the ground' intervention that would lead to a World War .

Trump's pledge to end the war was a winning message . To achieve that result he should channel his inner Ike and take direct control of the negotiations. Neither Zelenski or Putin are likely to settle this without him .
